ELEVATE Hoops Nights is a 10 week developmental basketball program, consisting of 10, 1.5 hr sessions. The program is held once a week on Tuesday Nights in South Surrey (Boys & Girls in grades 3-5, 6-7), Thursday Nights in Langley (Boys & Girls in grades 3-5, 6-7), and Friday Nights in Fleetwood Surrey (Boys & Girls in grades 3-5, 6-7). The Hoops Nights program consists over 3 separate seasons of play (Fall, Winter, and Spring). In a typical Hoops Nights, players will be given a “quick hitter” skill, followed by an engaging warm up, station work and game scrimmage. Each season will consists of 3-4 Game Days, in which 3 on 3 principles are incorporated followed by 5 on 5 game play. Boys and Girls are separated during both station work and game play. There are two groups in each session, ‘Bundesliga'(Boys & Girls in grades 3-5) and ‘EuroLeague (Boys & Girls in grades 6-7). With an emphasis on sportsmanship and fun, Hoops Nights are designed to teach grades 3-7 boys & girls the fundamentals of basketball understanding and skill acquisition. Players will experience offensive & defensive strategies and applying basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and passing in skills/drills, modified game play, and scrimmage game play.
Character development is stressed in all of the ELEVATE Hoops Night programs. At ELEVATE, we believe in an ‘inside-out’ coaching philosophy, which focuses on character development and the building of strong core/moral values in each individual. Using the game of basketball, in a coaching/mentorship approach, our passion is to teach such inner disciplines as: commitment, work ethic, and perseverance, which will set players up for success on the court, in the classroom, and ultimately in life! ELEVATE hoops nights also strive to create community in the program, by developing youth who are ‘others-focused’ and who understand what it means to be a team player!
