FUNCTIONAL TRAINING
MATT CHAPDELAINE – Former Professional Football Player
MPWR Director/Coach
Matt Chapdelaine is the founder and head coach of MPWR. MPWR (pronounced ’empower’) is a multi-facetted training company that caters to developing, post-secondary, and elite athletes as well as fitness fanatics in the lower mainland. Another key dimension of MPWR is the mental and cognitive training, character building, and mentorship programs.
Matt Chapdelaine uses his experience as a former professional football player (BC Lions) and a multi-sport collegiate athlete (football & track at University of Alberta) as a platform to engage his athletes on a relatable and personal level; understanding what it takes to get to the next level allows Matt to assist athletes toward the attainment of their athletic goals. He also makes use of his degree in Psychology (specializing in learning and behavior) and his NCSF personal training certification to provide specialized athletic training in a highly accessible way.
Some notable clients Matt and his staff have worked with include National Level Basketball Players, Professional Football Players, a Variety of Sports at the Collegiate Level, Prospective Olympic Athletes, Paralympic Athletes and more.
A free resource he offers to all of his clients and audiences can be found on his website (http://mpwrcoach.
Matt Chapdelaine looks forward to every opportunity to work with developing talent because the physical and cognitive fundamentals he instills will be used throughout the remainder of each athletes career. Still to this day, former clients of Chapdelaine who have gone on to perform at elite levels continue to speak highly of his training programs and consistently request his services each year.
He is especially excited for the opportunity to come alongside of a reputable program like ELEVATE. The dedication to developing future talent is a mindset shared between the Elevate staff and Matt Chapdelaine.
