It has come to Coach Weiss and my attention that one of our little ELEVATORS, Ronin Zeiger (Grade 6) is fundraising for a development trip to Kenya and travelling there with the organization ME-TO-WE. He will be also travelling with his little brother, Koan, who used to live in an orphanage in Africa. He will be participating in building a school and clean water systems and teaching English to young students.
Coach Weiss and I felt there was something very special in this story and would like to come alongside Ronin in his fundraising efforts. As ELEVATE community, I would like to encourage you all to support an event we will be hosting to raise money for Ronin’s special trip to Kenya.
Next Thursday, Nov. 27, 4pm @ RE Mountain Secondary School (Langley) Coach Weiss’s junior team (Mountain Eagles) will be playing my junior team (Semiahmoo Totems). There will be no admission, but we are hoping that you would donate at the game to Ronin’s cause. Every person that donates will be entered into a draw to win a FREE Registration to our ELEVATE Spring Break Basketball Camp and an opportunity to win other prizes as well.
This event has been advertised in the Langley community and we are hoping for a great turnout. There are rumours flying around that if Coach Weiss’s team wins then I will have to shave off my movember moustache, and if my team wins that Coach Weiss will have to shave lines in his head!
Please come out next week to support this great fundraising event!
Thanks for your support,
Coach Weiss and Coach Janzen
