ELEVATE is excited to announce that former professional basketball player James Hudson has confirmed his involvement as a guest coach for this upcoming Elevate Elite Basketball Camp next week (Basketball Camp: July 22-26, 2013). We are excited for the high-flyer shooting guard to ELEVATE our camp with his great vertical! Here is James’ profile:
After excelling for the Capilano College Blues, James received a scholarship and became a member of the University of Alberta Bears Basketball Team, playing for U of A from 2004-2007. After three solid years in the CIS, Hudson went on to play professionally for Langley’s former professional basketball team as a member of the Vancouver Titans in 2009 (International Basketball League). After his spectacular play in the IBL, James achieved his personal goal of playing professionally in Europe when he signed a contract with the City Baskets in Recklinghausen, Germany (Professional Basketball League). After a 3 year career in Germany, James came back to Canada working for EA sports and is currently living in California, USA, working in the sports video game industry.
Janzen says, “James is an electrifying shooting guard, able to use his athleticism to sky high on his jump shots, slash through the paint, and get the crowd off their feet with his high flying dunks. He goes on to add, “James and I actually competed against each other in the CIS, but really did not know too much about each other other than what was already on each teams scouting report. But while I was playing in Germany, James and I became close friends through other Canadian basketball players in Germany”, explains Janzen. “Even though we played for different professional organizations, the cities we played in were close together so us “Canadian Hippies” kept together even though we were a long way from home”, says Janzen. “I am excited that James wants to help my passion in coaching inspiring young aspiring basketball players reach their full potential, concludes Janzen.
