We are thrilled to announce that ex-Canadian National team player Randy Nohr will be one of our guest coaches at our ELEVATE Elite Camp this summer. Here is a profile of Randy:

Randy Nohr has one of the most impressive track records in the history of BC basketball, starting with back-to-back AA high school championships and an MVP award at Aldergrove Secondary in 1993-94 and 1994-95.

He went on to play for Kevin Hanson at Langara College in 1997-98 and ’98-99, winning two CCAA national championships and twice garnering honours as a first team BCCAA all-star. In the ’98-99 season, he was also named a CCAA All-Canadian, CCAA player of the year and MVP of the national championship. Nohr’s university career was equally as successful, winning consecutive CIS titles with St. Francis Xavier in 1999-2000 and ’00-01. Nohr, who was named MVP of the Final 8 championship tournament, still holds numerous school, conference, league and championship records, including the CIS single-season assists mark (168, 8.4 per game).

Following his post-secondary career, Nohr played professionally in Europe for three years, winning a Danish Cup and Danish Championship with SK Arhus in 2003-04. That season, he was also named a second team all-star and newcomer of the year in Denmark’s Basketligaen.

Nohr was also a member of Canada’s national team for four seasons, representing his country at several major international competitions, including the 2005 FIBA Americas, 2003 Pan American Games, 2001 Goodwill Games and the 2001 World University Games.

Randy Nohr was hired on as UBC’s first ever full-time assistant coach in April 2005, bringing a wealth of knowledge and winning experience to the program. Since joining the program, UBC has been one of the top teams in the country, winning five straight Canada West Pacific Division crowns (2006-2010), conference titles in 2007, 2008 and 2011, and CIS silver medals in 2009 and 2010.
